Course Objectives (as per the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Career and Technical Education):
(1) Students will practice application of previously studied knowledge and skills.
(2) Students will learn to reason, think critically, engage in problem solving and decision making, communicate, and do teamwork in order to pursue a career in the health science industry.
(3) Students will identify employment opportunities, technology, and safety requirements of each of the systems in the health industry. These include the diagnostic, therapeutic, health informatics, support services, and biotechnology research and development systems. These work together, as well as individually, in order to provide comprehensive health care. Students will apply knowledge and skills necessary for furthering their education and pursuing employment.
(4)Students will accept ethical and legal responsibilities and limitations, and employ these at work. As a result, students will demonstrate professional integrity in health care.
